This collection contains reports, speeches, conference materials, correspondence, reports, publications, hearing statements, legislation files, and photographs. Subject files include materials on topics such as pollution, water issues, forestry, government organizations, other conservation organizations, and a variety of conservation issues. The publications contain summaries and updates of the NACD and other conservation organization activities, histories of the NACD and updates on activities. Many of the photographs were made by the Soil Conservation Service and include images of crops, pastures, farming, waterways, erosion, and areas where conservation measures have been put into place. Included are files on and correspondence with government departments such as the Soil Conservation Service (SCS), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Department of the Interior.
